Forest includes a large retreat house and expansive gardens including

• Dormitory accommodation for a maximum of 18 people
• Separate private room for teachers / facilitators with broadband

• Camping for a maximum of 30
• Main Hall (11m x 6.5m/70sqm)
meditation cushions , space for 35+ sitting
yoga space for 20-25 including teacher
• Kitchen - retreats may be either fully-catered or self-catered
• 4 showers (boosted solar hot water) + 4 toilets (eco composting
system)
• 100% rainwater

FEES (as of April 2008)
Accomodation and facility hire
Dormitory accommodation / Camping $40 per head per day
Minimum rate $400.00 per day
Special rates for longer retreats, non-profit organisations or charities
may be negotiated.
Catering ( 3 organic vegetarian meals plus teas )
$45 per head per day (1-10 people)
$40 per head per day (10-20 people)
$35 per head per day (20-30 people)
* Special menus and/or organic catering may be in excess of this
basic rate.
If
Self Catering there is a $50 kitchen use fee which includes use
of all cutlery,crockery, cooking utensils etc. We have a strict
vegetarian only policy on foods being prepared
and served at our centre.
Booking
$250 non-refundable deposit required at time of booking.
Booking includes complimentary listing of your event on this website,
if requested.
All balances of payment to be made one week prior to booking.
For catered retreats, 50% of total catering fee required 1 week
prior to start.
Balance required at commencement of retreat.
We
are passionate about good, healthy, wholesome food and the use of
right diet to support the energetic needs of the body while reducing
our impact on the Earth. We use only fresh, natural ingredients
sourced locally when available and prefer as much as possible to
buy organic.
With our knowledge of food combining and nutrition we will specifically
design each menu according to the individual needs of your group,
the flow of your program and seasonal variations.

PRIVACY
During retreats, no visitors or persons other than caterers and
caretakers (1-2 persons only) will be coming or going from the property.
If you require absolute confidentiality for specific retreat processes
the space can be exclusively yours.
WHERE
Funkey Forest is approximately 15mins from Mullumbimby (13kms)
and 30mins from Byron Bay by car.
By plane: From Coolangatta Airport 40 mins

How
to get here
Coming
from the Pacific highway from the North / QLD :
From the Pacific Highway take the Burringbar/Ocean Shores turn off
( Tweed Valley Way).
Then take turnoff for Billinudgel / The Pocket. Once through Billinudgel
town turn Right at the T intersection and then continue for approximately
10 kms on The Pocket rd. After a winding section of road over a
hill you will come to an intersection. This is Main Arm Rd. Turn
Right here and you will drive thourgh Main Arm village past a shop
on your right.
Continue until you reach a T intersection. Turn Right. Continue
past
Upper Main Arm school on your left, then 'Macas' camp ground on
your
right. You will then reach the Upper Main Arm Community Centre on
your
right. After the centre you will go over 2 causeways or small bridges.
The entrance to F.F. is the first driveway on the left after the
second
causeway.
Coming
from the Pacific highway from the South / Byron Bay / Sydney etc.
Take the Mullumbimby turn off. Once you reach the town drive straight
through on the main street (Burringbar St.). This will take you
past
the Post Office on your left. Continue straight. The road will then
veer to the right alongside a park and the river. You will then
reach
an intersection. Turn Left and continue over the bridge over the
river.
At the next intersection (500m on) turn Left again. This is Main
Arm
Rd. Go straight past the showground on your left and continue for
approximately 10kms.
You will then reach Main Arm village and go past a shop on your
right.
Continue until you reach a T intersection. Turn Right. Continue
past
Upper Main Arm school on your left, then 'Macas' camp ground on
your
right. You will then reach the Upper Main Arm Community Centre
(otherwise known as Kohinur Hall) on your right. After the centre
you
will go over 2 causeways or small bridges. The entrance to F.F.
is the
first driveway on the left after the second causeway past the Community
Centre.
